binds the chip back to the pottery

the metallurgic spirit denies

a fragmented bowl should be rendered to scrap

because careless hands

lead to an ungrateful eye

cracks that show like veins of gilded strength

are lauded by those who don't yet grasp

what it means to break

yet function whole
